Description
Polysteel mooring rope is made with a blend of Polypropylene and Polyethylene, making it stronger and tougher than regular Polypropylene. It is mainly used in the navigation (mooring, towing) and the fishery.
What is the process of making the polysteel mooring rope?
Fiber making. We use 70% first grade polypropylene plus 30% high density polyethylene mixed together as the main raw material. Beside, we will add some kinds of additives to enhance the rope properties. Then we put the prepared raw material into an extruding machine to make the polysteel fiber. The primary fiber is like a thick noodle. After drawing by many many times, it turns into a thin and flat fiber. This results in a danline fiber, which has a minimum tenacity of 7.5 grams per denier, the highest grams per denier of any fiber commonly used in the manufacturing of polypropylene or polyethylene rope. The fiber making process is the most important procedure which determine the most properties of the rope such as tensile strength, ware resistance, UV resistance, etc.
